Mood: waiting for wind
9th March 2009
Windsurfing: Cooden
Wind Direction: W - NW
Wind Stength: gusty 10-20knts
Surf / Sea State: some waves
Air Temperature: 8 ish
Sea Temperature: chilly
Weather: sunny
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Wind was pretty westerly, and reported as offshore at Pevensey so headed straight to Cooden for an afternoon session.

Jeff & Julian were already there, and rigged up with 5.7's and 105ltr (Julian) / 85ltr (Jeff).

I initially went to rig 5.9m with the Kona 10'5 but as was sorting out the bits Julian came back in to change down board and rig. Opted to try the 5.3m Ego on the 10'5 as bit of an experiment to try and make something of the waves in the no wind zone.

Not sure the sail worked that well with the board in the wind, but was ok to get planing with it. Reckon it works better with 5.8m & 6.3m sized rigs I used with it before.

Not the best session ever, and the wind gradually swung more and more offshore so cut the session short when Julian & Jeff both had other pressing engagements taking them away from the beach.

Shame the direction went so offshore as if we'd had more cross-shore direction it'd have been a cracker !!
